Akira Kosemura
The piano as the breath of nature
When the piano becomes a place of healing.

EDITORIAL PERSPECTIVE
When the piano becomes a place of healing.
Akira Kosemura is a Tokyo-based composer and pianist. Self-taught as a composer, he has shaped piano, field recordings and the small sounds of daily life into an intimate and distinctive listening practice. After releasing It’s On Everything in 2007, he founded Schole Records while developing both a solo catalogue and an extensive body of work for film, television, theatre, games and international projects. His path, now also associated with Decca Records, remains centred on nature, silence and the beauty of imperfection.
